Experiment No.4

Experiment No.4

Components:
1x resistors, 1x 5v1 400mW zener diode, 1x diode 1N4007

Vs = 10v, 15v, R=1000Ω

Readings at 10v:
  • Volt drop (V1): 4.68v
  • Volt drop (V2): 657mV
  • Volt drop (V3): 5.34v
  • Volt drop (V4): 4.64v
  • Calculated current A: 10/1000 = 10mA
Readings at 15v:
  • Volt drop (V1): 4.84v
  • Volt drop (V2): 689mV
  • Volt drop (V3): 5.54v
  • Volt drop (V4): 9.39v
  • Calculated current A: 15/1000 = 0.015A
In this experiment we are looking at the voltage across the resistor, zener diode and diode at a 10V supply and 15V supply. The voltages across the components at the 10V supply are all lower readings than what I recorded with the 15V supply. This is because with the added 5V to the circuit, the voltages across the components are now going to be slightly higher to account for the added voltage running through the circuit.
